- Technical data — basic information your browser sends (e.g. for security and spam protection).
We do not take or store card/payment details on this website, and we never sell your data.
How we use it, and our legal basis
- To provide and manage your booking (carrying out the MOT/service/repair, confirmations, reminders, rescheduling) — to perform our contract with you.
- To look up your vehicle — we check your registration against official DVSA MOT history and DVLA vehicle records to show your vehicle details, MOT history and the correct price — our legitimate interest in giving you accurate information.
- To meet legal and regulatory duties — including DVSA MOT testing requirements and our accounting obligations — legal obligation.
- To keep the site secure and prevent spam and fraudulent bookings — our legitimate interest.
Who we share it with
We only share your data with trusted providers who help us run the business, under contract and only as needed:
- Website hosting & database — Vercel and Supabase (store your booking securely).
- Email & text messaging — to send you booking confirmations and reminders.
- Spam/bot protection — Cloudflare, to keep the booking form secure.
- Official vehicle data — DVSA and DVLA, when we look up your registration.
We do not sell or rent your personal data to anyone for marketing.
Cookies
We use only the essential cookies needed for the site and booking form to work and to protect against spam. We don’t use advertising or cross‑site tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep your booking and vehicle records only as long as needed to provide the service and to meet our legal, tax and MOT record‑keeping obligations, after which they are securely deleted.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- see the personal data we hold about you;
- correct anything that’s wrong;
- delete it (where we’re not required to keep it);
- restrict or object to how we use it.
To exercise any of these, contact us using the details above. You also have the right to complain to the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
